Zi Wei Dou Shu, also known as Purple Star Astrology, is a traditional Chinese system that maps your life from the date and hour of your birth. Through palaces, stars, the Four Transformations, and time, it describes your natural temperament, how you tend to act and relate to others, and the themes that shape each stage of your life.

Shi Er Gong
The chart is divided into twelve palaces, each covering one area of life such as self, relationships, career, wealth, and inner life. The Life Palace is the natural starting point, showing the core traits and overall direction of a person.
Xing Yao
Stars are placed across the palaces and carry most of the meaning in a reading. Each star has its own core qualities, and the palace it sits in shows which area of life those qualities appear in.
Si Hua
Hua Lu, Hua Quan, Hua Ke, and Hua Ji are known together as the Four Transformations. They show how stars and palaces act on one another, and they are key to reading the chart as a connected whole.
Da Xian
The age ranges printed on the chart mark the Da Xian, or ten-year periods. They add time to your birth chart and show which life themes come forward at each stage. The yearly cycle is called Liu Nian.

If palaces are the areas of life, stars are what give each area its particular qualities. Zi Wei Dou Shu uses many stars, each with a different nature, so a reading never stops at which star you have. It always asks which palace the star sits in.
Star: What You See
The core traits, tendencies, and way of working that a star represents.
Palace: Where You Look
The area of life in which those traits are being observed.
When the same star falls in a different palace, its core nature stays the same. What changes is the part of life you read it in.
Wu Qu is practical and action-oriented, with a strong sense for managing resources and money.
In the Life Palace, we look at how these qualities show up in personality, working style, and attitude toward life.
In the Wealth Palace, the same core nature is read in the context of money, resources, and financial habits.
So Zi Wei Dou Shu is not saying:
“I have Wu Qu, so this is who I am.”
Instead, it asks:
“Which palace is this star in, and which part of my life does it show up in?”

Attachment · Resistance · Lessons
Linked to concern, attachment, and repeated effort. It points to where pressure or fixation tends to build, or to a theme that asks for ongoing attention.
Zi Wei Dou Shu describes tendencies, not fixed outcomes. Your chart shows your natural traits, how you tend to respond in different areas of life, and the themes of each life stage. Rather than asking whether it is accurate, the practical test is to compare your chart with your own experience and see whether the tendencies it describes match how you actually work and relate to people.
